Any individual or organization holding an account (Saving Account, Current Account and Saving Premium Account) at any branches of Everest Bank are eligible to receive EBL Debit card. The existing account holders can apply at any time and new account opening customers can apply at the time of opening of the account itself.

Procedure to Apply for EBL Debit Card:

  • Click here to download “EBL Debit Card Application Form” or collect the Form from any EBL branches.
  • Fill up the Application Form, for the desired Debit Card type, either SCT or Visa & Submit it to the respective branch.
  • Collect your Debit card and PIN code on the same day, if you have applied for “Instant Card” and have your card activated.
  • Collect your Debit card and PIN code on the specified day, if you have applied for “Embossed Card (Name Personalized)” and have your card activated.
  • Start to use your Debit Card at ATM and POS terminals, following below procedures.

Procedure to use / deal with EBL Debit Card:

First time Forceful PIN Change: In case of SCT Debit Card, once you receive it, you are required to activate it by changing PIN (replace PIN provided by the bank with your own PIN) for the first time from any Everest Bank ATM or any other SCT Switch integrated ATMs. Only then you would be able to use your SCT Debit Card for your desired purposes.

In case of Visa Debit Card, forceful first time PIN change is not required compulsorily but we recommend changing PIN for the first time as far as possible.

Use of Card at POS: It is very simple and easy to use your debit card at any merchant location. Instead of paying cash, you may make payments of desired amounts using your card.

  • You just swipe your card at the POS machines stationed at merchant locations and press desired payment amounts. The merchant officials may guide you.
  • Two receipts will then be printed for you to sign. The merchant will keep one copy and hand over the second copy to you.
  • The merchants may also offer “Cash Back facilities” to customers, where a customer can draw cash along with their purchase.

Use of Card at ATM: Withdrawing cash from ATM is very common and simple, which is described as under:

  • Insert you Debit card in the card Reader. (In some ATM machines, you are required to pull the card inside card reader while in others you are required to dip the card in and pull it out quickly.)
  • Enter your four digit PIN number.
  • Select “Fast Cash” or select “Withdrawal”, to draw cash out from the ATM.
  • Select the desired Amount for “Fast Cash” or type desired amount for “Withdrawal” activity. This must be in multiples of 500 in EBL ATMs.
  • Make sure to take your Cash, Debit Card and a Receipt paper.

Card Lost or Stolen & Replacement Card: In case your card is lost or stolen or you feel that your PIN number is disclosed to others, please inform to the bank immediately to block further usage of the Card.

You can receive “Replacement Card” against that Blocked card, by contacting and applying at the bank branches.

Safety Tips & Security Measures:

  • Please treat your card like cash and never keep it lying around.
  • Please sign on the signature panel at the back side of your Debit Card, immediately upon receipt.
  • A secret PIN code shall be provided to you in a sealed PIN Mailer. For security purpose, you are advised to memorize your PIN code and destroy the PIN Mailer.
  • Do not keep your PIN with your Debit Card and do not disclose it to anyone. Always keep your PIN secure by memorizing it instead of noting it down anywhere.
  • You are advised to change PIN provided by the bank at the time of using your card for the first time and periodically thereafter.
  • Your card is only for your own use. You are advised not to permit possession of the card to any other person.
  • You are held full responsible for the transaction carried out from your card, hence it is your responsibility to keep your card and PIN in safe custody at all times.
  • If you lose your card, report to the bank immediately to block the same.
  • Always keep the copy of bill and the payment slip and ATM receipt for all transactions, till you verify and tally with your account statement.
  • Check your account statement on regular basis. In case of any discrepancy, please inform to the Bank within 30 days of transaction date.
  • Please do not bend your Debit Card or leave it exposed to sunlight, heat or electricity.

Terms and Conditions:

The usage of Debit Card by the Cardholder is adhered with specific terms and conditions, which are mentioned at “Debit Card Application Form” (click here).
