Partnerships Launch Ceremony with UNNATI Access to Finance

UNNATI Access to Finance organized the Partnerships Launch Ceremony on 08th May 2017 at Regal Hall, Hotel Yak & Yeti. The objective of the Ceremony was to mark the signing of the partnership agreements between UNCDF and 10 of Banks (including EBL) and Financial Institutions. The agreement signed under the framework of Expanding Financial Frontiers Challenge Fund (EFF), which is a grant facility under UNNATI- Access to Finance (A2F) project. The UNNATI project is funded by Government of Denmark and implemented by Nepal Rastra Bank with support from UNCDF. EBL, in partnership with UNNATI-A2F under Expanding Financial Frontiers Challenge Fund will focus on Expansion of Financial Services in Eastern Development Region. It intends to reach out to the unbanked / low banked people at remote areas with various other value added services with the use of technology. EBL will focus on branchless banking (BLB) with the mode of Tablet / device / web banking. Agent will use tablet for the banking platform integrated with Bank’s CBS connected within the wireless portable printer. Also ebl will fulfill the financial needs of individuals, agriculture, cooperatives, micro SMEs by providing loans through brick & mortar outlet / BLB. To meet this object, EBL will focus on bringing financial services to rural areas under improving Access To Financial Services project with umbrella concepts.
