In its efforts to provide/promote digital based banking facilities to large and well spread out sections of the society, Everest bank has started contactless payment facility at various petroleum outlets of Sanjha Sewa (Sahakari Sansthan) Ltd. through QR Code service.

This new digital based service is jointly started by Mr. Santosh Bhattarai- Provincial Manager, Everest Bank, Bagmati Province & Mr. Dinesh Poudel, CEO, Sanjha Sewa(Sahakari Sansthan) Ltd. in presence of Mr. Diwakar Shrestha, Chief Account Officer, Sanjha Sewa(Sahakari Sansthan) Ltd., Mr. Puspa Raj Uprety, Head-Marketing, EBL, Mr. Lava Kuikel, Branch Manager-Pulchowk Branch, EBL along with other dignitaries. During the program, Bank Management has highlighted that with this arrangement now, people can make payment through QR Code which will be deposited in real time at the bank account of Sanjha Sewa (Sahakari Sansthan) Ltd. maintained at Pulchowk Branch.

On January 12, 2021, Everest Bank has started an Online Inland Revenue Tax Payment System integrating with Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO) by technical collaboration with Fonepay. Further, bank management believes; this electronic payment method will benefit the people at large and it will eliminate the hassle and lengthy process of visiting tax offices for tax payments during ongoing COVID 19 global pandemic.

Considering the outburst of the COVID 19, Mr. G.K Negi, CEO-Everest Bank Ltd. and Mr. Ram Sharan Pudasaini, Secretary (Revenue), GoN, Ministry of Finance digitally inaugurate the Online Inland Revenue Tax Payment System in presence of Mr. Madhu Kumar Marasani, Financial Comptroller General, GoN, Mr. Binod Bahadur Kunwar, Director General, Inland Revenue Department, Mr. Diwas Kumar Sapkota, Chief Technology Officer, Fonepay and senior officials of the bank.

In its efforts to provide modern banking facilities to large and well spread out sections of the society, Everest bank has inaugurated its 100th branch at Hakim Chowk, Chitwan. On 30th of Dec 2020, the bank had inaugurated its 99th branch at Ghorahi, Dang.

G.K. Negi, Chief Executive Officer, Everest Bank Ltd. and Mr. Raju Shrestha, President, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chitwan jointly inaugurated the branch at Hakim Chowk, Chitwan amidst a special function held on 1st of January 2021 in presence of other local dignitaries and senior officials of the bank. During the opening ceremony, Mr. G.K Negi, CEO, EBL in his inaugural address, assured, the residents of Hakim Chowk area, to provide all modern banking facilities with optimum quality service. The branch at Ghorahi has also jointly inaugurated by Mr. Keshab Paudel, AGM, Everest Bank & Mr. Narulal Chaudhary, Mayor of Ghorahi Sub Metropolitan.

Coinciding its 25th Anniversary Everest Bank amid a function held on 16th October 2020 at Head Office signed Agreement with Panchkhal Municipality to facilitate Farmers’ for Agriculture Loan. As per the agreement bank will provide Agriculture loans, Interest subsidy loans ensuring the provision of internal credit guidelines and NRB guidelines to the farmers of Panchkhal Municipality.

The agreement was exchanged by G.K Negi, Chief Executive Officer of Everest Bank Ltd. and Mr. Mahesh Kharel. Mayor of Panchkhal Municipality in presence of senior officials of the bank.

Presently the EBL is rendering professionalized & efficient banking services through its widest network of 98 branches, 30 Revenue Collection Counters, 129 ATMs.

Everest Bank Employee Family has distributed the relief materials to various individuals who have lost their jobs due to the lock down. The relief materials were distributed in various parts of country by coordinating with the local body. The staffs of Everest Bank have contributed the amount used for distributing the relief materials.

The Nepalese economy which was already under performing is now severely affected by the outbreak of pandemic COVID-19. The uncertainties seem to be prolonged and could trigger further volatility in the financial sector. As Everest Bank Limited Upgrades its mobile Banking app “EBL Touch 24”, now using the app customers can self-register in the app through their own phone and also easily login the app using their own phone number as login id. Using the new upgraded EBL mobile banking app customers can enjoy interbank fund transfer with more than 50 banks, pay Electricity& Water Supply, T.V, Internet bills, mobile top-up, buy flights, bus, movies, and events tickets online along with using QR payments at over 1 Million outlets. Furthermore to make the app secured and seamless, Finger print or Face recognition has been enable in the app to make the payments.

Everest Bank limited has handed-over its committed fund for COVID-19 (Corona) Relief Fund. The bank has provided Rs. 6 Lacs each to all seven province governments through its Regional Offices and Rs.60 Lacs to Central Government, which was handed over to Shri. Laxman Aryal, Secretary Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers by Shri. Ashutosh Sharma, AGM & other EBL representatives.
