In its efforts to provide modern banking facilities to customers of different sections of the society, Everest bank has inaugurated its 123rdbranch at Lalbandi, Lalbandi Municipality, Sarhali.

Mr. Basudev Adhikari, Mayor Lalbandi Municipality& Mr. Sudesh Khaling, Chief Executive Officer Everest Bank Ltd jointly inaugurated the branch at Lalbandi, Sarlahi amidst a special function in presence of Mr. Dipendra Kumar Balampaki, President- Lalbandi Udhyog Banijya Sangh, Mr. Lal Bahadur Yonjan ward Chairman Lalbandi Municipality ward no. 6, Mr. Moti Lal Tater, General Manager HULAS, Mr. Bibhuti Neupane Provincial Manager Madhesh Province Everest Bank Ltd, Mr. Puspa Raj Uprety, Head Marketing Department Everest Bank Ltd & various other dignitaries of the society. With this new branch the total number of branches of EBl at Madhesh Province have reached to 13.

Further, Bank under CSR, handed Cheque of Rs. 50,00/- for set up of E-library to M/s. Relative Nepal. Amidst a special program Mr. SudeshKhaling Chief Executive Officer of Everest Bank Ltd handed the Cheque to Mr. Jay Prakash Mandal-Executive Director of M/s. Relative Nepal. The E-Library shall be set up at M/s. Shiv Shakti Secondary School, Bateshwar Rural Municipality ward no 4, Dhanusha.

A business agreement has been signed between Everest Bank Limited and SmartChoice Technologies Limited for the purpose of introducing Smart QR to customers who do digital payment transactions.

After this new dimension of service diversification, the customers of Everest Bank Bank Limited can use the bank’s mobile banking app ‘EBL Touch 24’ to pay for any goods and services through Smart QR.

The agreement was signed by Chief Executive Officer Narayan Prakash Bhuju on behalf of SmartChoice Technologies Limited and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Vijay Kumar Sharma on behalf of the bank.

During the opening ceremony Dr. Gurung stated that the strength of EBL is being joint venture with Punjab National Bank India & is one of the Government trusted bank with lower NPA in the industry where thousands of Nepalese working in India can take advantage of financial transaction through EBL.

Further, Bank under CSR, handed 50 dustbins to Mayor of Mechinagar Municipality for waste management of the Municipality.

On the occasion of its 28th anniversary, Everest Bank Ltd organized a Solidarity walk (PrabhatFeri) on 22nd October, 2022. Starting at 7:30 a.m., more than 400 employees of the bank enthusiastically participated in the event. The walk was routed from Head Office of Bank Lazimpat to Lainchour-Gairidhara-Narayanchour Naxal-Nagpokhari-Lainchour and back to EBL House Lazimpat. The main theme of the solidarity walk (Prabhat Feri) is to promote the digital banking in Nepal.

Mr. Sudesh Khaling CEO of EBL, inaugurating the event and emphasized for digital banking in the bank and digital literacy theme set for the bank in the current year and said that uses of digital products deals the finance in real-time &customers can operate the account from anywhere and anytime. Mr. Vijay Kumar Sharma Dy. CEO of the bank said that uses of digital product helps 24/7 access banking channels like Fund Transfer, Bill Payment, Mobile Top Up, QR Payments, e-commerce transactions.

Bank under CSR handed the cheque of Rs. 4.80 Lacs to M/s. Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, Dhankuta for Eye aging machine to be placed at Dr. Ram Prasad Pokharel Eye Hospital, Dhankuta. Similarly, bank signed MoU with Godawari Municipality ward no 3 for Solar Bus Stand at Taukhel Lalitpur. Mr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Dy. CEO of EBL & Mr. Sanu Raja Ghimire, Chairman of Ward no 3 of Godawari Municipality signed the agreement.

Amidst a special function, Everest Bank Limited (EBL) Birtamod branch has started its operation from the new location situated at Birtmaode Municipality ward no 5, Mayadevi Complex, Dharmakanta, Opposite to City Centre of Jhapa District. Earlier, the branch was situated at Birtmode Municipality ward no 5, Sanischare Road. The new location is approximately 1 km east from earlier location. Mr. Janak Chapagain Provincial Manager Province-1 of EBL amidst a special function held on 27th September, 2022 in presence of various other dignitaries of the society said the new located branch shall provide all the modern banking facilities to its customers.

Everest Bank launched E-Paicho Foneloan, an instant collateral-free loan available to eligible users of the EBL Touch 24 app. Eligible Everest Bank account holders can now get up to Rs. 200,000 instant loans without collaterals, paperwork, or bank visits.

E-Paicho Foneloan can be repaid in different time frames. These include payback within 1 month, or on an EMI basis for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. The option for prepayment of loans is also available for customers who want to clear their loans early.

Customers eligible for E-Paicho Foneloan can also get “Buy Now Pay Later” services while using QR payment on any Fonepay merchant. Customers will need to be registered to E-Paicho Foneloan with a verified email address to get access to these services.

Eligibility for E-Paicho Foneloan is decided automatically based on various parameters, such as having a salary account, regular transactions, no other outstanding loans with the bank, and more. Eligible customers will see the E-Paicho Foneloan icon and the “Register” button. Customers can avail all the services of E-Paicho Foneloan once they register and verify the email.”

“Credit access is notoriously difficult in the country”, said Mr. Bishnu Gyawali, SME/Retail Head of Everest Bank. “We have decided to allow eligible customers get easy credit access. E-Paicho Foneloan is disbursed instantly, and payments are taken automatically, so customers don’t need to worry about making payments either. All they need to do is maintain the required balance, and we will take care of the rest.”

Everest Bank Ltd and National Banking Institute (NBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 15th September 2022 for strategic alliance whereby NBI would provide training programs to the bank for human capital development. This partnership is expected to further leverage the strategic intervention towards the development of human capital of the bank.

This alliance is expected to be instrumental in the capacity building process and bringing about positive transformation in human capital development in the industry.
