Everest Bank Ltd. (EBL) organizes Blood Donation Camp & Launches new Deposit Product on the occasion of 17th Anniversary

“Be a Blood Donor-all it costs is Little Love” with this notion EBL celebrated 17th Anniversary on 1st Kartik 2068 (i.e. 18th October 2011) by organizing Blood Donation Camp along with launching of new Deposit Scheme among others.

Owing to the significance of blood donation and as a part of CSR activity, EBL organized this Blood Donation Camp coinciding with the Anniversary day. Most of the employees along with their relatives as well as the customers actively participated on the donation program. The day aims to raise awareness of the need of safe blood and to encourage current & potential donors to donate regularly on a voluntary basis. EBL has always been conscious of its social responsibilities by extending support to the disabled, poor people, victims of natural disaster etc. More than 125 employees/their relatives, friends and the Customers of the bank donated blood to meet the growing demand of the blood.

Similarly the bank launched a new deposit scheme called “FREEDOM Savings Account” targeting the minors who are in the age between 10 to 16 years. This scheme is intended to inculcate saving habits in the minors and help them in becoming responsible by allowing them to operate this account independently. A special savings scheme for minors, who have attained 10 years of age and above, who can read & write, can open this Savings account in their own name singly. No cheque book will be issued to this Account holder; however the minor is allowed to withdraw money from his/her account using ATM card or through withdrawal slip.

At the same event, the bank distributed Best Branch Award to 3 branches (i.e. Pulchowk, Gwarko & Birtamode) under different categories. Branch managers of those branches along with best employee of Head Office were also conferred with Chairman’s Club trophy on the same occasion.

In an endeavour to provide convenient banking facilities to the visitors/patients of Grande Int’l Hospital, EBL has established its new ATM machine inside the hospital premises. With this, the network of the Bank reached to 72 ATMs along with 50 branches, 5 Extension Counters & 22 Revenue Collection Counters.

The ATM has been inaugurated jointly by Chief Executive Officer of EBL Mr. AK Ahluwalia along with Chairman & Directors of Grande Hospital. The inaugural function was also attended by other dignitaries including High-level officials from both the Bank & Hospital. Grande International Hospital is the only multi-specialty hospital in the country that truly meets international standards, not only in its infrastructure but all its services. EBL is proud to partner with Grande International Hospital to bring the highest standard of their respective service to their patrons.

Everest Bank renewed contract with Ms. Sadichha Shrestha to continue her as its Brand Ambassador for further one year. Ms. Shrestha, former Miss Nepal has been promoting products/services of the bank by way of featuring in advertisements as well as representing the Bank in different forums since last year.

 

In a small program held at its Head Office, the CEO Mr. AK Ahluwalia and Ms. Sadichha Shrestha exchanged the agreement. During the function, Mr. Ahluwalia stated “Everest Bank is an established brand and is looked upon as a very strong Bank. Now, to make it a household name, Sadichha will continue to play an active role and we are quite hopeful in her ability to do so”. At the program, other high-level officials of the Bank were also present.

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, on 10th February 2014, Everest Bank donated Computers to Shree Triveni Higher Secondary School, a government school at remote area of Katari, Udayapur.

Mr. AK Ahluwalia (CEO of the Bank) handed over the Computers to Mr. Balkrishna Karki (Head Master of the School) amid a function organized at Corporate Office of the Bank. During the function, Mr. Ahluwalia said, “Everest Bank is committed to making a difference in the lives of children through quality education. We are thus happy & proud to be involved in the effort to improve education & infrastructure across the rural Nepal.”

Under such initiatives, the Bank has been supporting public & community schools in several parts of rural Nepal by helping them to improve their infrastructure as well as the quality of education. In addition to education, the Bank is making significant contributions to the health, infrastructure and sports sectors in Nepal.
